These plant-based ribs are deliciously sticky. The smoky and tangy marinade (called the ‘vinegar mop’ traditionally used to tenderise meat) soaks into the ribs whilst cooking and the Three Kings Pantry Maple Flavour sauce is added to the remaining marinade (vinegar mop) to make a sticky, sweet glaze to finish off the cooking. Beef or pork burgers, veggie, turkey or pork sausages could be used as an alternative to the plant- based burgers if liked. Serve with your favourite fries, seasoned wedges and coleslaw or salad.

Ingredients

  • ⦁ 2 x 113g Plant-Based Burgers

  • ⦁ 40ml of Cider Vinegar

  • ⦁ 2 teaspoons of Smoked Paprika

  • ⦁ 40g of Three Kings Pantry Maple Syrup Flavour Sauce

  • Equipment:
  • 4 wooden skewers (Approx 14 cm long). 1 x shallow, medium-sized oven-proof dish

  • Oven Temperature:
  • 200 degrees C/180 degrees C (Fan)/Gas Mark 6

Method

  • Soak the skewers in cold water for 10 mins (this prevents them from burning during cooking).
  • Combine the smoked paprika with the cider vinegar in a small bowl, this is your vinegar mop.
  • Cut each plant-based burger into 3 equal portions (to resemble rib shapes). Thread the 3 plant-based ribs onto the skewers (see video below) so that you have a rack of ribs.
  • Place the plant-based rack of ribs into the oven-proof dish and drizzle with half the vinegar mop. Reserve the remaining mop for the glaze.
  • Place the plant-based rack of ribs in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  • Mix the Three Kings Pantry Maple Syrup Flavour Sauce into the remaining vinegar mop, this is your sticky glaze.
  • Remove the plant-based rack of ribs from the oven and drizzle over the sticky glaze.
  • Return the dish to the oven for a further 10-15 mins until cooked through and caramelised.
  • Serve with fries or seasoned potato wedges and coleslaw or salad.
  • Drizzle the plant-based ribs with more Three Kings Pantry Maple Syrup Flavour Sauce to serve if desired.Sticky Plant based Ribs 1
